After RTP expansion, NetApp now adding more jobs in Kansas

NetApp recently chose Research Triangle Park for a new data center.

About a month after it chose Research Triangle Park for its next data center, NetApp Inc. announced Thursday that it also will add an additional 400 jobs to its existing facilities in Wichita, Kansas.

Since the data center selection announcement, reports have surfaced suggesting that Wichita was RTP's top rival for the new data center, which is expected to add 460 jobs in RTP over the next four years.

NetApp (Nasdaq: NTAP), a 2012 TBJ Best Places to Work honoree, is a data storage company headquartered in California but employs more than 12,000 people in about 70 offices worldwide, including about 1,400 at its current RTP facility. And, as TBJ reported earlier this month, there?s potential for even more future jobs in the Triangle.
